Starting a conversation with your MP is effective and a great way to do your part to push for Julian’s release and the protection of international journalism. The UK government is in a position to make a real difference for Julian’s life, and for our right to free press.
WHEN WRITING TO YOUR MP:
First, introduce yourself.
Second, open the conversation. Ask where your MP stands:
- Do you support the release of Julian Assange?
- Do you support a truly free press?
- Do you support protections for journalists from political prosecution?
- Do you support a robust democracy?
- Do you support the exposure and prosecution of war crimes?
- Will you stand up for these issues?
Lastly, sign off. Let your MP know you look forward to hearing from them.
