Ring your Candidate
Starting a conversation with your candidates in your electorate is effective way to do your part to push for Julian’s release and the protection of international journalism.
The Australian government is in a position to raise this issue internationally, so let’s put the pressure on them to pick up the phone and join the fight for press freedom.
WHEN CALLING YOUR CANDIDATE:
First, introduce yourself.
Second, open the conversation. Ask where your MP stands:
- Do you support the release of Julian Assange?
- Do you support a truly free press?
- Do you support protections for journalists from political prosecution?
- Do you support a robust democracy?
- Do you support the exposure and prosecution of war crimes?
- Will you stand up for these issues?
Lastly, sign off. Let your Candidate know you look forward to hearing from them.
